The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is an internationally recognized standard that describes language ability. It's not specific to English; it can be used for any language. The CEFR provides a common basis for:

Assessment: Allowing for consistent evaluation of language proficiency.

This test is recommended for children aged 9 years or above.
Children who are 5 or 8 years old, can directly enrol for the STARTER and A1: BEGINNER Levels above.

We always go for your child's current English knowledge and proficiency rather than the age. Age guidelines are given, however, we prefer enroling your child based on the results of the above Online English Test.

Pre A1: Starter
TERM 1 (May - Aug 2025)
Age Group - 5 to 6
Learners at this level can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. They can introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know and things they have. They can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
Recommended Age group is 5+ for this course.

They can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.
Recommended Age group is 18+ for this course.
